Leaving
"home" behind creates a new perspective
Sometimes our daily environment affects us more than we like to admit.
Your family distracts you, or your boss decides you are the perfect
person to tackle her latest pet project in addition to your current
workload. What can you do to appreciate what you have instead of struggling
to do everything on your list?
Take a trip!
Leaving home may sound counter-intuitive to finishing your tasks.
However, taking a break from your routine allows your body and your
mind to work in different patterns. You see possibilities, and you
recognize new things about yourself and what you want from your life.
Energized and invigorated, it’s easier to return home and get
more done in a shorter time.
I just drove 34 hours round-trip from Phoenix, AZ to Denver, CO for
a coaching conference. Enjoying the natural beauty while the car traveled
through the valleys and past the mountains helped me let go of some
burdens and create new possibilities. My imagination had space to
roam, and I jotted down several ideas for my business and my life.

Contributing to a successful Phoenix Art
Museum
“Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
Pablo Picasso
Recently, I attended the “El Greco to Picasso” exhibit
at the Phoenix Art
Museum. While I sat on the bench in front of Renoir’s Luncheon
of the Boating Party, I was lucky enough to chat with an older woman
in a wheelchair. She reminded me to follow my dreams, especially while
I’m still "young and able to do anything you want."
While we chatted, I noticed a mother with her 4-year-old daughter
on the other side of me. The little one was smiling as she listened
to the children’s audio guide. Sandwiched between a child just
beginning her life and a woman celebrating the autumn of her life,
I smiled. What a wonderful Monday it was!
Although the "El Greco to Picasso" exhibit left the Phoenix
Art Museum, the art will live within each person who saw those masterpieces.
